We are in the process of applying for the Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status, currently dontations to iCAN relief are NOT tax deductible.
How Do I Know iCAN Relief Is A Reliable Organisation?
We are a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC), publish all our financials publicly and are regulated by them. If you have any specific concerns, please feel free to contact us so we can help clarify.
Does iCAN Relief Assist The Needy In Australia Or Overseas?
Currently We only assist people in need in Australia, However we are currently in the planning phase to assist need from overseas as well. Will update our website once we have the approval and our overseas charity plans in place.
Who Is Eligible To Receive Zakat?
The receipients of Zakat are clearly defined in the 8 categories in Surah Al Taubah verse 60. These categories are The Poor, The Needy, Zakat Administrators, Those whose hearts may be reconciled, Slaves, Those in Debt, Those struggling in the way of Allah and Wayfarers.
